1. Leather jackets lose their shine and can be wiped with leather oil, but not with shoe oil.
2. Leather jackets are best worn frequently and often wiped with a fine velvet cloth. If encountering rain, dampness or mold, you can use a soft and dry cloth to wipe off water stains or mold spots. But never wipe with water or gasoline, because water can make leather harder, while gasoline can cause the oil in the leather to evaporate and dry and crack.
3. It is generally advisable to apply oil once a year before wearing it in winter and when collecting it in spring. Before oiling, first use a wet towel to wipe off the dust on the surface of the leather jacket. After the moisture is released, use a brush or plastic foam to brush it from top to bottom. Do not brush it back and forth and repeatedly. Then use this method to evenly apply the oil on the leather jacket. For a leather jacket, use a bottle or tube of 80g leather jacket oil.
4. Due to the fact that cowhide, sheepskin, and pigskin are mainly composed of protein, they are all susceptible to moisture, mold, and insect infestation. Therefore, when wearing leather jackets, it is important to avoid contact with substances such as oil stains, acidity, and alkalinity. If oil stains are stuck, you can first sprinkle talcum powder on the oil stains, let it sit for about a day, let it absorb the oil, and then wipe off the stains with a damp soft cotton cloth. If there are blood stains, use a piece of waste skin of the same color as the leather jacket, dip it in some liquid to wash the semen, and touch the blood stain to remove it. If there are wine stains or rain stains, dip a clean soft cotton cloth in some water to remove the stains, and then hang it in a well ventilated place to air dry naturally. Do not bake it by the stove.
5. Leather jackets with wrinkles can be ironed with an electric iron, but it should be noted that the temperature should not be too high after the electric iron is powered on to avoid damaging the leather. Generally, it should not exceed 85 degrees, and a clean cotton cloth should be used as a lining for ironing on the leather jacket. It should be moved continuously during ironing.
6. If a leather jacket is damp or soaked in rain, it should be dried in a place that is not directly exposed to sunlight.
7. When the weather warms up and you don't need to wear it, let the leather face in and dry it, then wipe the surface with a clean cloth and let it dry. Finally, apply leather jacket oil and hang it on a hanger. If it is placed flat, it should be placed on top of other clothes to avoid being compressed, wrinkled, and affecting the appearance.
8. The leather jacket was accidentally scratched, and due to its high value, it is a pity to discard it. Patching it will leave scars and affect its appearance. The processing method is to evenly apply glass glue or other strong adhesive to the cut area, and then press and flatten the cut area with a metal rod, so that it can be instantly glued together. After the glue solidifies, apply jacket oil and the bonding area will not be visible.
